On September 29, 2019, Chief Okezie Akwiwu, Chairman Human Capital Development Committee of AACDU, was in London to address members of Abba Welfare Association, United Kingdom. He talked about the efforts of AACDU to bolster security and education in Abba Ama Ano.

NUC Approves Imo Claretian University, Abba

The National Universities Commission has given final approval for the commencement of Imo Claretian University, Abba. Officials of NUC will inspect the university site from October 14 to October 16, 2019.

Engr. Paul Ozigbu, Chairman of AACDU, celebrated the first Abba Children’s Day at Central School on September 15, 2019. Children from the four Abba Ama Ano communities came together to perform, dance and feast.

Chief Chukwuma Ojiako Program Ends

The 2019 Chief Chukwuma Ojiako Educational Support Program ended on Saturday, September 7. The closing ceremony had HRH Eze Ononenyi Uzoma (Ekiti II), Engr Paul Ozigbu, Chief Dan Ojiako and other prominent Abba indigenes  in attendance. Books, school bags, WAEC and tuition fees were awarded to various students from the four Abba Ama Ano communities. Engr. Paul Ozigbu awarded a university scholarship to the best student, Miss Chinaeso Godwin.

Chief Obinna Akwiwu Donates Laptops to Abba Youths

Chief Obinna Akwiwu (Oshimiri III, Odokara Omee II) donated four laptops to Abba youths. The laptops were presented to Chairman AACDU, Chief Paul Ozigbu, on September 4, 2019, by Chief Okezie Akwiwu.

Eze Ononenyi Uzoma to Train Abba Youths

HRH Eze Ononenyi Uzoma (Ekiti II of Ekitiafor) will train 5 selected Abba youths in various aspects of crop farming and animal husbandry.

History Committee, Abba

History Committee Inaugurated

An 11-member committee has been tasked with writing a comprehensive account of the history and culture of Abba Ama Ano. The committee was inaugurated on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Chief Paul Ozigbu's residence.

Imo Police Commissioner Visits Abba

On July 20, 2019, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, approved the location of a police post in Abba. The Commissioner gave the directive during an inspection visit to the rehabilitated Abba police station. He directed the Divisional Police Officer, Amaigbo Station, to assist Abba community in setting up a community vigilante outfit to complement the work of the Police.

Human Capital Development Committee Meets Abba Youth

In a bid to develop the educational and career potential of Abba youths, the AACDU Human Capital Development Sub-Committee on Scholarship and Career Guidance, chaired by Chief (Dr) Frank Ojiako (Ochuariri Ekitiafor), had a meeting with Abba youth leaders from Umuokwara, Umudurunna, Ekitiafor and Ogwuaga on June 2, 2019, at the residence of Chief Paul Ozigbu.
